Marshall 0, Coldwater 13

 

Marshall was eliminated from the post season on Saturday by Coldwater. We knew we were up for a challenge having swept Coldwater during the regular season. They were without their number 1 pitcher earlier and we knew we would have to prepare for her this time around. Unfortunately, it was the Coldwater bats that got hot early off of Layne Churchill as they scored 3 runs on 3 hits in the first inning. While the Redhawks couldn’t get anything going, it was the opposite for Coldwater. Down 5-0 and with runners on, Claire Kelly came in to relieve Layne Churchill. She worked out of a jam with no outs, surrendering just one run. Our lone scoring opportunity came in the 4th after a leadoff walk to Brielle Kelly and a sharp single from Addison Carden. However the next three batters would strike out looking, ending the threat. The loss leaves the Redhawks with a season record at 25-9 and 10-2 Co-Champions of the I8 Conference. Shout out to our lone senior, Emmalie Hirst. Everyone else will be back for next year as the Redhawks look to reload. Thank you to all of our supporters and especially the following:
